Rainbow
Prison Ministry is an outreach to incarcerated women
at Rainbow Conservation Camp located in Fallbrook,
California. The setting is untypical of a prison in that
it is a minimum security military barrack style camp
where the California Department of Forestry trains and
deploys inmates to fight forest fires.
Our mission is to change long established patterns of
violence, abuse, low self worth, cyclical poverty,
scripted failure and negative thinking through the
leading of the Holy Spirit in powerful worship, positive
friendships, healing prayer, and inspirational teaching.
“Success is not measured by what you
accomplish, but by the opposition you have encountered,
and the courage with which you have maintained the
struggle against overwhelming odds.”
This quote parallels our goal to encourage prisoners
to think differently about their future and
possibilities as well loved daughters of the King of
Kings. |
During our eleven years of ministering in
the prison system, we have seen a blurring
of the dividing line between our
incarcerated sisters in Christ and the rest
of society. The value and potential of human
life is the same, yet what makes a lasting
impact to an incarcerated individual is to
share a very simple message:
- Your life is important
- You are much loved by the Father
- Your sins are forgiven
God’s heart is to set the prisoners free
from a life of shame, guilt and abuse:
“I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I
was sick, and you cared for me. I was in
prison, and you visited me.”
Matthew 25:36
Consider your role in bringing love and
hope to women in prison by your donations
and volunteer service. We welcome you! |
